The heat of the elections is definitely upon us, and while some of us are still confused on who to vote for, the craziness of social media is also evident during this season. This is no different from Angelica Panganiban’s case as she called out a supporter of presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte after making a “rape wish” towards actress Melai Cantiveros’ young daughter.
The said supporter reportedly posted a threat to have the actress’ daughter raped once Duterte gets elected s president on Facebook because of her support for Mar Roxas.
Angelica, who is also a Duterte supporter, commented on Melai’s post, saying, “May kanya-kanya po tayong opinyon at gustong kandidato. Hindi tama na hilingin mong may mangyaring masama sa kapwa mo tao dahil hindi kayo parehas na (sic) president (We all have our own opinions and chosen candidates. It’s not right to wish harm towards another person just because you don’t support the same president).”
“Gusto ng bawat kandidato na matigil ang krimen. Bakit mo hihilingin yun lalo na sa batang walang kamuwang muwang? (Every candidate wants to stop crime. Why would you wish such, especially towards a child?),” she adds.
Meanwhile, Melai also says that she plans on filing a case against the woman who posted the threat.
