From the mess that was campaign season to the mud-slinging during the counting of votes, it looks like we’ve reached a certain calm. President Rodrigo Duterte formally welcomed Vice-President Leni Robredo to the Malacañang Palace yesterday and it seemed to go smoothly.
Inquirer.net provides the footage of the said meeting between the two most powerful people in our country. One must remark on how the president chose a casual ensemble of shirt and slacks, instead of a barong. Perhaps to insist on his image that he’s a simple man? But we also want to comment on Leni’s simple dress that off-set the intricately embroidered Filip + Inna coat. From that Paul Cabral dress to that Veejay Floresca creation she’s been spotted in, and now this—the vice-president might just be on our fashion hot list.
Appearances aside, we hope this becomes a sign of a genuine and good relationship between the two.
