Step aside, Taylor and Kim. It seems that people are now focusing on former model Melania Trump, Donald’s wife, for allegedly plagiarizing first lady Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech. (At least for now.)
Of course, to cover it up, Donald’s campaign manager Paul Manafort denied the allegations, saying that there were only similarities in wording. “These are common words and values that she cares about her family, things like that,” he tells CNN.
This happened when Melania spoke about her husband during the Republican National Convention yesterday. Although she insists that she wrote the speech herself and “with little help as possible,” journalist Jarrett Hill and even CNN noticed striking similarities from Michelle’s speech. (And by similarities, we mean a whole paragraph.)
Also, for some reason, Paul also decided to mention Donald’s opponent, Hillary Clinton―possibly to pit her and Melania against each other to, again, cover up the allegations. “This is once again an example of when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton, how she seeks out to demean her and take her down. It’s not going to work,” he says.
Michelle has not yet commented on the issue. Neither has Hillary.
Hmmm, is it just me or does this sound strangely familiar to when Sen. Tito Sotto plagiarized US senator Robert Kennedy’s speech some years back?
