Karl Lagerfeld just released his collab with Faber-Castell, the Karlbox―a 350-piece box of painting and drawing tools.
All the tools are placed inside a black wooden box which has separate drawers and compartments. This includes Albrecht Dürer pencils, Polychromos color pencils, Pitt ink pens, Castell 9000 graphite pencils, and an array of brushes, a foldable cup, sharpeners, and erasers. Basically everything a budding artist would need.
Karl has been an avid fan of Faber-Castell since he was a child and used the brand to sketch a lot. “To me, drawing is like breathing and writing. These are things that almost relax me,” he tells WWD. Now we know one of the reasons why he pursued fashion design.
Only 2,500 Karlboxes are on sale starting yesterday and each are priced at 2,500 Euros. (Around P130,000―whoa!) Sadly, it’s only sold in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques and Harrods in London, as well as Breuninger in Stuttgart, Jelmoli in Zurich, Le Bon Marché in Paris and Gump’s in San Francisco. It’ll be available until Sept. 19.
