The whole country was shook yesterday as one of our greatest leaders Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 71. People posted tributes and fond memories about Sen. Miriam and highlighted how greatly she served our country. And Pres. Rodrigo Duterte feels the same way.
During his press conference in Davao, he shared his condolences to Sen. Miriam’s family, “I would like to express my deepest condolences. I grieve with the family, with Narciso, the husband, si Benjie used to be a general of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. To the children, I share your grief.”
“We have lost a leader,” said the President and added that he will definitely miss Sen. Miriam’s “colorful language also and above all her brains.” Pres. Duterte would also like to visit the wake if he makes it back on time in Manila.
“We’ve lost a good guy in the government,” he said and we couldn’t agree more.
