You Can Now Encrypt Your Facebook Messenger

If you’re the type to click your tongue at yet another app update, now is not the time with the new encryption feature for Facebook Messenger. This ensures that your conversations are kept private and safe from third party entities like hackers and even the government.

With the updates, you can now tap the “secret” option atop the “new message” screen to activate the end-to-end encryption service. This also allows you to send photo and video messages to your friends that are available for viewing for 24 hours. (Sounds like another app we and Kylie Jenner like to use).

Facebook-owned WhatsApp rolled out this update earlier in the year to all users automatically. So this new option within Messenger might be a little suspicious as it only allows people who take the time to actually look at the new settings to enable the encryption. So as you read this, we give you the responsibility to share this post and spread the word to as many friends as you can.
