Mariah Carey Speaks Up About Her NYE Meltdown

You’ve seen the tweets, the memes, and the headlines about Mariah Carey’s major meltdown on stage during her performance at the Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017. It was not pretty.

She sure knows how to play along with it and laugh at her own mistakes as she responded via Twitter to the train-wreck performance.

Yesterday, Mariah’s spokesperson Nicole Perna also released a statement to Associated Press saying, “Unfortunately there was nothing she could do to continue with the performance given the circumstances.”

If you were living under a rock, Mariah sang “Auld Lang Syne” smoothly until her lips were not in sync with the audio, but it’s okay as she finished strong. The sh*t storm happened when they played “Emotions”, which apparently they did not do a sound check for. But being a good sport she tried to continue by walking up and down the stage and doing some lifts. Up next was “We Belong Together,” even before she started singing, she already knew there was something wrong and said, “This is the album version…” She still sang along, but in the end she literally just walked out. She was not having any of it, at all.

Like what my boss said, she trended way more than New Year’s Eve so that’s ending on a high-ish note. We still love you, Mariah.
