5 Color Trends at This Year’s Golden Globes

Awards season is in full swing once again as the Golden Globes 2017 saw the best in TV and film. This year, Tom Hiddleston won Best Actor in a Mini-Series for The Night Manager, both La La Land and The Crown were taking home numerous awards, and so much more has happened in the past couple of hours.

But before all that, the stars walked the red carpet in their best eveningwear. There, we took note of some color trends that the biggest stars rocked. Expect a lot of metallics and vibrant colors ahead.

Black and white combo
Celebs like Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell looked chic with black and white ensembles that ranged from simple tube dresses to dramatic slit dresses. This palette also includes the tuxedo worn by Evan Rachel Wood.

Pretty in pink
Spring isn’t here yet but Felicity Jones, Zoe Saldana, and Lily Collins opted for bright pink dresses on the red carpet. All of them looked feminine and fresh with minimal makeup and a simple updo.

Soft pastels
Another spring color that was making waves were pastels like lavender and periwinkle. These muted colors gave Hailee Steinfeld and Jessica Chastain ethereal looks, especially with the floral and ruffled details. They also remind us of the pastels in Chloé’s spring/summer `16 collection.

All-out metallics
There was an abundance of shimmery metallics on the red carpet. From Kerry Washington and Ruth Negga’s gladiator-like dresses to Nicole Kidman’s silver mermaid-tail number, they certainly caught everyone’s eye. In case you want to keep a few metallic pieces for your own, Tibi has metallic ribbed pieces.

White out
You can’t go wrong with a starch white ensemble. Many stars put their own flair to accentuate their dresses―Millie Bobby Brown with feather details, Michelle Williams wearing a choker, and Sienna Miller rocking some Tiffany & Co. jewels. You can also see this trend a lot at Jil Sander‘s runway shows.
