DJ Sanya Smith’s Latest Playlist Will Get You Through Any Day of the Week

When I need motivation, or something to make the time go by faster, music is what I turn to. It can be the soundtrack to your amazing feats at work or can be the consolation to a long drive back home. Since we’re still on the high of a new year, we asked DJ Sanya Smith, one half of The Zombettes, to make us a kick-ass playlist to get us through the coming weeks so we can keep riding this streak. What came out was a blend of songs to get you pumped on your morning rush to work and also something to set the mood of a lazy weekend.

Sanya even did us a solid as she also gave us insights to the songs and artists she loves from past and present. It’s a great way to update your Spotify library.

“3 Little Birds” -Bob Marley and the Wailers
“Start the week with good vibes. Bob Marley really puts me in a great mood. Sometimes the first thing I do when I get up is play this whole album. Don’t worry bout a thing, every little thing is gonna be alright.”

“The Pretender” -Foo Fighters
“My sister and I used to headbang to this track when we were younger…I still do to this day!”

“End of The World” -Mr Oizo feat. Skrillex
“Nah, it’s not the end of the world. [This is] something to groove to on the way to work!”

“Rap God” -Eminem
“This would be fun to play when you’re carpooling with friends. Look up the lyrics on YouTube..I dare you to try and keep up with him!”

“Bad Girls” -M.I.A
“For the badass B’s out there!”

“Get Tipsy” -Freq Boutique
“[This can also be for] the weekend…that can only mean one thing to most people I know.”

“Bounce Back” -Brohug
“I get a lot of great reactions for playing this whether it’s in a club, bar or at a festival. If you like to dance after a long day you might like this one!”

“Lullabies (Adventure Club Remix)” -Yuna
“Here’s something to wind down to on a Sunday. Sleep in, you deserve it. Absolutely fell in love with the song the first time I heard it. Yuna is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists! I was surprised to find out that she’s actually Malaysian as I grew up in Kuala Lumpur.”

“L$D Love Sex Dreams” -A$AP Rocky
“A dreamy track from whom I love to call my future husband.”

“In My Life” -The Beatles
“You can’t go wrong with The Beatles. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like them. They inspired so many artists you hear today. Here’s a great song to listen to at the end of the week to look back and reflect upon the things you have done, and think about the things you want to do. It’s a new year! Anything is possible.”
