Zamboanga’s Pink Beach Hailed as One of the Best in the World by ‘Nat Geo’

Pink Beach found in Sta. Cruz Island, Zamboanga is one of the 21 best beaches in the world according to National Geographic‘s latest list.

The beach takes its name from its blush colored sand due to the broken red-pipe coral that gets washed up on shore. Perfect since bright white sand is already so passe, right? NatGeo also notes how the privacy adds to the allure of the beach, “The number of visitors to the island is regulated, and advanced arrangements should be made through the tourist office in Zamboanga.”

A quick plane ride from Manila, I think you have no excuses to check out what the buzz is all about. Other beaches included in the list are Pelican Beach, Belize; Cannon Beach, Oregon; and Corniche Beach in France. They are lauded for their different features that cater to snorklers, dune walkers, and other beach activities.
