The mark of this era is how we want things to be all under our fingertips. We work on our phones so much that they almost act like computers. Who has time to open up a laptop when a touchscreen phone is right there? And sometimes, it’s even faster.
It looks like that’s what the people of Gava Gives thought of when they came up with their crowdfunding website. Before you raise your eyebrows at the word “crowdfunding,” thinking of your cousin who is looking to support the crazy experiments in his parents’ basement, hold on a minute. Gava Gives harnesses the power of crowdfunding to help out specifically different NGOs and non-profit advocacies.
This is quite ingenious as it makes donating easier. You can just click through the different campaigns and find the one that’s closest to your heart. Gava Gives has partnered with over 40 charities and advocacies from animal welfare like CARA to disaster support like the Red Cross. On the other hand, the website also streamlines the process if companies wish to team up with a certain advocacy or NGOs for their CSR programs.
Gava Gives also cuts through the middleman as it provides multiple avenues of donation. You can do it via bank transfer or through your cellular network (Think: GCash) so you don’t have to worry about where to bring your donation.
If you have any doubts if you should help by this means, do know that the monetary donations are conducted through a third party. Gava doesn’t serve like a “bank” that holds the money. It simply just provides an umbrella site so you can see the ongoing campaigns in one go. There is also an easy monitoring system for you to get updates about the status of your donation.
Apart from this, Gava Gives ambassadors include Andi Eigenmann and Miss International Philippines 2014 Bianca Guidotti. Both of whom are passionate about helping out. Catching up with Bianca during the event, she found Gava Gives as the right place for the beliefs she forwarded even before she got the crown. “The main reason why I like Gava is because it’s not just about promoting one advocacy but many advocacies. But more importantly, it’s about promoting the main act of going out there and helping however you can.”
On top of this, Gava will be giving back to the people who donate. Soon, there will be a points system given to donors which will give them access to a few perks, given in kind by the companies who help out Gava. As if the act of giving isn’t a reward in itself, looks like Gava Gives is handing you more reasons to make a change.
