Palawan Is the World’s Top Island for the Second Year in a Row

Palawan is once again the World’s Top Island according to Travel + Leisure’s yearly World’s Best survey. This is the second year that the island topped the list, which also includes the island of Boracay. Was it a coincidence that exactly a month ago we released a feature on local celebrities and influencers who spent the long weekend in Palawan? Pretty great timing, I must say.

Described as “the single most beautiful place on earth,” Palawan impressed travelers when it comes to the activities that can be done on the island, natural attractions (I mean, who can beat our limestone formations?), as well as the cuisine (fresh seafood!), beaches, friendliness, and overall service.

A few months ago Business Insider also dubbed El Nido, Palawan as one of the best beaches, and it was also one of the destinations where Kevin Kwan’s latest book Rich People Problems was set—you know that part when Charlie Wu was searching for Astrid Leong? Yup, that was in Palawan as well.

According to Travel + Leisure, one of the reasons tourists love Palawan is because it’s home to about 600 bird species like the Palawan peacock pheasants and red-bellied Pittas. Perfect for when you go sightseeing and island hopping!

Hooray, Palawan! Now let’s gun to be the best island for the third time in a year and more.
