Trump’s strategic communications director modeled for the Gossip Girl spinoff books

Long after the series finale, Gossip Girl remains relevant. From the show (which you can binge-watch on Netflix) to the books, secrets of the Upper East Side will forever be in our memory.

Only now the White House is getting in on the Gossip Girl action

Hope Hicks, who worked as a teen model, was featured on the cover of The It Girl, a spinoff novel series that followed Jenny Humphrey to boarding school.

Hicks is currently Donald Trump’s strategic communications director.

The book was released in 2005 when Hope was just 16 years old. Does this book look familiar to you? You might still have it somewhere in your room or in a box with your Blair Waldorf headbands from high school.

Her political career, however, started in 2012 when she joined public relations firm Hiltzik Strategies. There, she worked with the Trump Organization and later handled PR for Ivanka Trump’s fashion line and a few Trump resorts in 2014. Despite her lack of political experience, Donald Trump made her press secretary of his campaign in 2015 before her current position as strategic communications director.

She has definitely come a long way since The It Girl cover. More power to you, Hope!
