Lea Salonga’s Daughter Debuts Her Musical Theater Career

We’ve seen Lea Salonga in numerous music theater plays, some are standouts like her role as Kim in Miss Saigon or even Éponine for Les Misérables. She was also the singing voice of Disney’s Princess Jasmine and Mulan, lest we forget. Now, she’s celebrating another milestone, not just as a theater performer, but as a mother and that is the debut of her daughter Nicole Chien in the musical theater industry.

“Word is finally out,” Lea posted on Twitter. “I couldn’t be happier! Congratulations, Nicole!!!” Her tweet had a link attached that announced the full cast of Matilda.

Nicole has always been an avid performer in school, she started singing at the age of five and she knows how to play the violin. Perhaps you can see a mix of Lea’s love for singing and her brother Gerard’s love for instruments and composition.

It seems that a lot of people asked Lea regarding show dates which she also responded to through Twitter. So if you want to catch Nicole, just as enthusiastically as her mother, then we just better keep our eyes peeled.

Congratulations, Nicole and we can’t wait to see you onstage!
