A fun night out for many often includes three things: food, drinks, and music. While many would prefer a crowded club with dubstep playing all night, there are also people who’d rather enjoy a live band or a chill DJ. Less chances of you shouting over the music too.
Just like clubs, you can also go venue-hopping depending on the date, the lineup, and what time each set will start. The schedules may overlap but that’s the fun part about planning your night with your friends. (Tip: Always check social media for info.)
For today, we’re starting off with places in two busy areas: Makati City and BGC. Jot these down and map it out so you won’t aimlessly drive around the city.
Social House
If you want to see different performers daily, then you’ll like Social House. From Monday to Sunday, you can watch the bar’s regular performers for free. You just need to secure a reservation to get good seats to see the show. There will also be days when there’s an entrance fee so be sure to check their Facebook page for additional details. Located at Circuit Lane, Circuit Makati.
Pura Vida
Pura Vida has good happy hour deals from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., which ranges from P70 beer to free sangria on ladies’ night. You can also order authentic Costa Rican meals to go with your drinks. And if you’re into reggae music, you can catch their resident DJs and performers who will play until closing time. Located at Don Pedro Street, Makati City.
SaGuijo Cafe + Bar
This resto-bar is known for staging live gigs of different genres in an intimate setting. So whether you’re into rock, hip-hop, or acoustic music, you can probably spot a lineup for you on any day. Located at 7612 Guijo Street, San Antonio Village, Makati City.
Craft Rock & Grill
Craft showcases different genres for each day of the week. For example, Tuesdays are for alternative rock while Wednesdays focus on “rockeoke,” and so on. Aside from beer and cocktails, you can also order a platter of wings and other snacks while enjoying the tunes. If you drop by from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., you can avail of their P50 beers and P25 wings. Located at Unit E, The Fort Strip, 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
Upperhouse at The Brewery
Looking to do something before partying at Palace Pool Club or Valkyrie? You can grab dinner, maybe some craft beer, and watch a live show at Upperhouse. The chill and rustic vibe adds to the venue’s appeal as you listen to popular indie and mainstream acts in the country. Just check their Instagram page to see their monthly gig schedule. Located at 2/F The Brewery at The Palace, 10th Avenue corner 38th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
