Fans of The Cranberries are mourning today due to the sudden death of the band’s vocalist Dolores O’Riordan. She was 46.
According to BBC, Dolores was found dead at a hotel in Park Lane, London. Her publicist Lindsey Holmes said in a statement that Dolores had a short recording session with the band. While the cause is still unknown, several people, including celebrities, have already posted their condolences and messages for the late singer.
The band confirmed the news via Twitter. “She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today.”
Musicians like Saab Magalona, Halsey, and Ingrid Michaelson also expressed their grief and surprise about Dolores’ passing.
Pitch Perfect 3 star Ruby Rose said she felt honored to have covered one of her songs in the film.
Beauty vlogger Jeffree Star recounted that the very first album he bought was from The Cranberries.
Anne Curtis shared her favorite The Cranberries lyrics on Instagram Stories and ended her tribute with a heartwarming message.
Dolores is considered “a voice of the generation” in the ’90s with hit songs like “Linger” and “Zombie.” Last year, The Cranberries released an acoustic album titled Something Else and was touring North America and Europe.
