Iconic Filipino Designer Pitoy Moreno Passed Away at 92

Binibining Pilipinas Charities announced that Jose “Pitoy” Moreno passed away yesterday afternoon at the Manila Doctor’s Hospital. The iconic designer suffered from a heart attack at 2:48 p.m. Rappler reports that even if he was known to be 87, his grandson John Paul Cruz said that he was already 92.

Pitoy Moreno was hailed internationally as the Fashion Czar of Asia with his works showing up in international publications like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. His signature terno was worn not just by people of society, but First Ladies, and even European royalty.

It’s sad to know that we have lost a fashion icon. Our condolences to his family!
