Just like the Golden Globes, today’s SAG Awards will also pay tribute to women. For the first time, they will have all-female presenters. SAG Awards executive producer Kathy Connel calls it a “unifying salute to women who have been very brave and speaking up.”
She also added, “How many times has a woman walked into a room of predominantly men? We thought, maybe for one night, it’ll be more than 50/50 [onstage]. We don’t want to slight the men who have given great performances this year—knowing our membership, I’m sure our men will embrace the opportunity to honor women.”
The awards show will also have their first ever host Kristen Bell. The presenters include Emma Stone, Lupito Nyong’o, Halle Berry, and Dakota Fanning.
Congratulations, ladies! We can’t wait to see you all take the stage.
