If you’re obsessed with wedding details, there is another type of party you might be interested in. Debuts are usually big celebrations, especially in the Philippines. The celebrant’s family will throw a grand party with all the details chosen by the debutant. From the theme to the gowns and performances, some debuts can be as extravagant as weddings. To give you a glimpse of what we’re talking about, we’ve rounded up some celebrity debut parties that were extra.
Claudia Barretto
To celebrate her 18th birthday, Claudia Barretto had a chic party. Set in Whitespace, the venue was decorated with draped fabric and ribbons hanging from the ceiling. The centerpieces were composed of tall flower vases, colorful flowers, and grand candelabras. She also had two gowns for the night. A champagne-colored sweetheart gown with bead embellishment by Mark Bumgarner. The second one was a light blue creation from Patty Ang that had fringe-like details on the skirt.
Dian Serranilla
This list wouldn’t be complete without the girl who had her debut at MOA Arena, Dian Serranilla. She might not be your usual celebrity, but after her debut at MOA Arena and her background in blogging she is starting to make a name for herself. Aside from her gown and outfit changes, her party had other surprises to offer. There were several performances throughout the night from her family. Dian also performed where she flew in the air, complete with angel wings.
Isabelle Duterte
Isabelle Duterte’s debut has been talked about so much lately (and not for good reasons). Form her outfit changes to the dance number, people are searching for even more details. Held at The Peninsula Manila’s Rigodon Hall, the venue was covered in flowers. The entrance had a flower tunnel with a glass-covered flower walkway. Inside, the floral theme continued with the chandeliers and centerpieces. She also had a photobooth where guests could take OOTDs. Some of her guests even got Hérmes prizes.
Kathryn Bernardo
In April 2014, Kathryn Bernardo also had a debut for her 18th birthday. The decorations of her party had a minimalist touch with feminine elements. By the entrance was a letter K made from pink flowers. Inside there was a flower arch that had pearl beads. Kathryn had two gowns, a light blue flowy piece by Vania Romoff and a pink beaded number by Francis Libiran. Her black and white cake had flower, ruffle, and pearl details. And the cake was probably as tall as her.
Julia Barretto
Just like her younger sister, Julia Barretto also had a debut when she turned 18 three years ago. Keeping with the horses theme, there was a mini carousel cake that actually spun. There were other horse-shaped ornaments covered in flowers too. Her gown was a red Michael Cinco creation that had a long train. Who performed at the party? The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.
