The Layering Trend Seen on the Runway and Instagram

Have you ever wanted to layer your clothes but the weather never permitted it? There might be a way to pull off a layered outfit without feeling too warm. Create your own “fall/winter” look by layering a long-sleeved top or sweater under a T-shirt.

Sacai presented this trend in their latest show in Paris.

Adidas Originals also used this styling technique for their current Adicolor campaign.

Lauren Reid is into layering too. She posted a photo on Instagram where she was wearing a long-sleeved lace top under a black graphic tee.

Hop on this trend by trying our combinations below.

Zara Striped Ribbed Sweater + Uniqlo Oversized High Neck Short Sleeve T-shirt

Add bright colors to your outfit with this striped sweater. It has alternating pink, orange, and white stripes that have different widths. If you find this a bit loud, layer it with a plain T-shirt. This one from Uniqlo has a relaxed fit and comes in different colors like gray and white.

Shop: Zara, Available at Power Plant Mall. Uniqlo, Available at SM Megamall.

Topshop Long Sleeve Lettuce Crop Top + Tokichoi Sheer Basic Tee

For a dressier outfit, opt for a sheer top. This one has a round neckline and metallic finish. Since it’s sheer, you might want to wear something underneath. This burgundy shirt from Topshop has lettuce details on the hem of the sleeves for a feminine touch.

Shop: Topshop, Available at Greenbelt 3. Tokichoi, Available on Zalora.

Victoria Beckham Stretch-cady Top + Stradivarius Short Sleeve T-shirt with Large Polka Dots

Try mixing different trends with this styling tip like bell sleeves and patterned shirts. For the bell sleeve top, go for something simple like this piece from Victoria Beckham. You can then pair it with something printed like this polka doted T-shirt. It is the same color as the long-sleeved blouse but the print makes it stand out.

Shop: Victoria Beckham, Available on Net-a-Porter. Stradivarius, Available at Glorietta 2.

Bershka Cropped Sweater + Proenza Schouler Printed Fitted T-shirt

If you want to go for a bolder look, try this combo. Match the bright blue sweater with a red T-shirt. The shirt has an orange print that looks like a painted effect. Finish off the look with black trousers and shoes, and an embellished bag.

Shop: Bershka, Available at SM Aura Premier. Proenza Schouler, Available on Farfetch.
