This V-Day, Get Extra Cheesy and Emotional Under the Rain

Valentine’s Day is two days away. Many of you may have planned your dates already with your loved ones (or yourself) and think that nothing will go wrong. But surprise! Mother Nature has something different in mind.

PAGASA recently announced that there’s a possibility that tropical storm “Basyang” might stay in the Philippine Area of Responsibility until Wednesday. “Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile may experience localized thunderstorms that could trigger floods or landslides,” the weather bureau said in a statement.

It’s still not official but you can never be too careful. But that doesn’t mean that V-Day is fully ruined. We have a few ideas that you and your date (be it your friends or SO) can pull off. For the singletons, don’t worry we have suggestions for you too.

Recreate the upside-down kiss in Spider-Man

Your significant can wear a Spider-Man suit and hang upside-down a tree so you can live your Mary Jane Watson dreams. Just make sure that it’s safe to climb the branches during the storm.

Showcase your acting chops

One of the iconic scenes in The Notebook is when Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling had an emotional exchange under the rain. Recreate this scene with either your friend or SO, and be prepared to shout, “Why didn’t you write me?!” Plus points if you film it and post it on social media. (If you do, please share with us!)

Belt out an Aegis song

Yup, we’re talking about “Basang-Basa Sa Ulan.” If you’re single and just want to have fun while letting out #feels about Valentine’s Day, brave the rain and feel like you’re in your own music video.

Dance in the rain

Think Singing in the Rain with the suits and umbrellas. It’s also a good bonding experience to practice the choreography before V-Day.

Or, if you want, you can channel your inner Beyoncé and do the dance number during her BET Awards 2016 performance.

Go for ramen

It doesn’t have to be a fancy Japanese restaurant. Any good bowl of ramen is always the perfect go-to during rainy days. You also don’t need a date to enjoy ramen, plus there are benefits to dining alone.

Chill at home

If you think it’s impossible to go out because of the weather, then just opt to stay in. Make some hot chocolate or tea, put on a movie, and get snuggly in PJs and blankets. Valentine’s Day “disaster” solved!
