This Woman Received a Poorly-Made Gown a Day Before Her Wedding

According to a report on Inquirer.net, a woman from Parañaque City received an ugly wedding gown just a day before her wedding. Mhayo B. Arguelles had asked her designer friend to make the dress for her special day. In the end, it came out to P30,000 but did not look as much as it costs.

In several Facebook posts, Mhayo shared close-up photos of the gown. The stitching was poorly done, beads were glued on, and her underwear could even be seen through mesh-like panels. She said, “Nanlumo ako pagkakita ko sa gown ko na ‘Haaaaa! Ito yung wedding gown?’ Nagdalawang isip ako bakit ganto? ANG PANGET!” (I felt depressed after seeing my gown, I said, “What? This is my wedding gown? I thought twice and wondered how it could have turned this way. It’s ugly!)

Although she saw some flaws during the fittings, she still had the designer finish the gown thinking she would details to make it look better. Disheartened by the issue, her maid of honor was able to borrow a wedding gown for the bride. Mhayo also told Inquirer.net that she ended up using the train and veil that came from the original dress.

In an effort to clear her name, the designer Dimple Aquino posted her side of the story on Facebook as well. According to her, Mhayo had no complaints during the fittings. “I mean if you don’t like it, if you think it’s not on the design then sana sinabi sa akin.” (I mean if you don’t like it, if you think it’s not on the design then you should have told me.) She also noted that she was not paid the full price but only P22,000.

It was also stated in the report that the designer has filed a case for the unpaid balance of the dress. However, Mhayo refuses to pay the P8,000 because of the way the dress turned out. She has also filed a case and the two will see each other on Feb. 27.
