The Special Action Force Has an Opening For Female Soldiers

The PNP Special Action Force (SAF) has been updating everyone for months about the next batch of openings for female soldiers. Now the wait is over as they’ve announced that aspiring troops can send their applications.

The call for female applicants was posted on PNP SAF Recruitment’s Facebook page. It contained instructions on the important documents they should bring and their dress code. More importantly, they should download the application form here.

The Special Action Force is a predominantly male army. In fact, during the first days of the Marawi siege, there was only one woman in the 5th SAF Battalion. “She is the only female assaulter in our group (government forces) before the Marines and the Rangers sent women into the battle zone,” deputy commander Christopher Mendoza told Inquirer.net. “She is a living testament that women can also do what men can.”

Hopefully next time we’ll see more female soldiers who are serving the country in the front lines. Plus, given ample recognition for their bravery.
