Expecting mothers might be given 100 days maternity leave soon

If you’re a mom-to-be or thinking about having kids in the future, your maternity leave is very important. This gives you time before and after you give birth to get back on your feet and to spend time with your new baby.

Currently, mothers are given 60 days paid maternity leave for normal childbirth and 78 days for cesarean.

However, yesterday, The House of Representatives approved a new bill. According to Inquirer.net, the bill “seeks to increase to 100 days the paid maternity leave for female workers in the government and private sectors, with an option to extend an additional 30 days without pay.”

The next step for this bill is to get a final approval from the lower chamber. Once this is done, it will be sent to Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to be signed.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed because this will be a big help to all the expecting mothers.
