Your guide to starting the -ber months right

It’s only September but the Christmas season has officially hit the Philippines. Now that the -ber months have arrived, be prepared for the holiday spirit because it’s everywhere and some of us are starting to feel the pressure. Some might think it’s too early but we’re sure others have already started their Christmas chores.

If you want to get with the program and prepare for Christmas months before, here’s what you can start doing.

Bring out the decorations

The -ber months have just begun but I know some of you have already started bringing out your decorations. If you have a staple set that you like to use every year, bring it out of storage and start decorating your house little by little. You can also head to the mall and buy some fresh ones. I’m sure some stores are already selling decor.

Fix your gift list

Don’t put it off for too long. Get your Christmas gift ready and check it twice because you might have missed someone. Start jotting down names and segregate them into categories like family, friends, officemates, etc. After putting the list together, you can set your budget for each person and start hunting for presents.

Go to bazaars

Aside from the mall, bazaars are also great spots to do your Christmas shopping. Expect a lot of them to pop up over the next few months. A great thing about bazaars and fairs is that the merchants are usually local brands so you’ll get to support them as well. If you want to start early, there will be another Spectrum Fair this weekend.

Get ready for sweater weather

The weather is still on the humid and rainy side but I’m hoping for cooler days ahead. Bring out your sweatpants, layering pieces, and ugly Christmas sweaters. If the weather is even just a few degrees colder, try to add layers to your outfits. It will serve a purpose and look cute too.

Plan your vacation

Aside from summer, Christmas vacations are ones to look forward to. There also many options to choose from. You can go somewhere where it snows or get away from the chilly wind at beach getaway. If you need some suggestions, we have a list for you here.
