Moira Dela Torre alluded to the Marcos Fest controversy during a live show

Last night, Moira Dela Torre performed her first show after the controversy surrounding Marcos Fest surfaced online. Before singing “Tagpuan,” she gave a short speech that seemed to be addressing the situation.

Moira, who was teary-eyed, started by saying that she’s always been an advocate for kindness and hope. But recently, she felt like she lost hope. “Akala ng mga tao dahil nasa entablado ka hindi ka nagkakamali; na dahil nandito ka hindi ka nasasaktan.” (People think that because you’re on stage, you’re not allowed to make mistakes; that just because you’re standing here means you can’t get hurt.) She also thanked her fans who supported her and gave her hope again.

If you want to hear her statement, it’s in the three-hour mark of the livestream.

Earlier this week, netizens called out Moira for performing at an event celebrating Ferdinand Marcos’ birthday in Ilocos Norte. She replied to one Twitter user and claimed that the producers didn’t give all the information about the event, and that it was under a different name.
