The co-founders of Instagram are resigning

Shocking news on Instagram today as CEO Kevin Systrom and co-founder Mike Krieger announced that they will be leaving their respective posts.

Their caption started off by saying that they are both grateful for the last eight years with Instagram (six of which were with Facebook). They have seen the app grow before their very eyes—from a team of 13 to now a thousand offices around the world. And let’s not forget their billion users!

So what’s next for these two? They will be taking a break and step back to explore. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll be surprised with more innovative apps or technologies from them in the future.

For now, au revoir and see you on IG!
