Here’s a dating app for people who are sick of ghosting

Paranormal beings aren’t the only things you should be scared of this Halloween. Most of the time, ghosts are actual people and they thrive on social media and dating apps.

If you’ve been ghosted by someone you like and don’t want it to happen again with the next person, don’t fret because dating app Badoo promises to stop it.

According to Dazed Digital, Badoo has a new feature that reminds its users to respond to conversations, even offering pre-made responses. If you or the person you’re talking to don’t reply within three days, the app will give message options that read: “Hey, are you free to meet this week?” and “Hey, I think you’re great, but I don’t see us as a match. Take care!”

In modern dating terms, “ghosting” is the act of suddenly not replying and purposely leaving another person hanging. There are a few good reasons for ghosting people but most of the time, it’s a sh*tty tactic.

This anti-ghosting feature is currently only available in Europe. But Badoo promises to roll it out internationally next year. The app can be downloaded on the Apple Store and Google Play.

We’re not going to lie, this is helpful for people who just casually “forgets” to reply—the message prompts are helpful too. But you know, people should just know how to communicate better instead of disappearing into thin air.
