Beyoncé now owns 100 percent of Ivy Park

Since its big reveal in 2016, Ivy Park will be going through some changes. The brand was originally split down the middle with Beyoncé and Arcadia—parent company of Topshop—owning 50 percent each. Dazed reports that Beyoncé “bought back Arcadia boss Philip Green’s share and now owns 100 percent of the company.”

Earlier this year, news started to surface that Ivy Park garments were actually made by underpaid workers. It was said that the clothes were made by women in Sri Lanka who got paid 54 per cents per hour and worked 60 hours a week. The brand denied this in a statement, “Ivy Park has a rigorous ethical trading program. We are proud of our sustained effort in terms of factory inspections and audits, and our teams worldwide work very closely with our suppliers and their factories to ensure compliance.”

Now that Beyoncé has full control, we’re hoping to see a change in how the clothes are made. We’re fans of the brand’s message but that needs to bleed through to all processes as well.
