When Ariana Grande released a song lovingly dedicated to her exes, we found our anthem in “Thank u, Next.” Same goes when the movie Mean Girls came out in 2004, we felt like our high school lives were put on the big screen. So imagine our reaction when Ari decided to combine the two—it was awesome, to say the least.
It started with photos of Ariana dressed in complete Regina George attire, then some BTS shots with the OG Aaron Samuels, and we even spotted Elizabeth Gillies playing the role of Cady Heron. Now, our dreams are about to come true when Ariana dropped the teaser.
“One time on Twitter, I heard Ariana was pregnant,” says YouTuber Colleen Ballinger while clutching her notebooks. “So I got pregnant so we can be pregnant at the same time. Turns out it was just a rumor.” Then reveals her swollen belly.
“Ariana broke off an engagement,” said the very same gal who played Bethany Byrd in the movie. “So I found a guy to propose to me and I broke off an engagement.”
Troye Sivan also referenced to a misheard lyric from the song and said, “I heard she’s a lesbian now and dating some chick called Aubrey. It’s f*cking sick!”
Gaddamn! We’re so excited for this MV to drop that we watched the teaser a thousand times.
