This car will make your spy dreams come true

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TOYOTA PHILIPPINES

Growing up, I’ve seen shows, movies, and even video games that featured strong female spies. They’re either in leotards while trying to steal precious cargo, or going undercover in eveningwear. And what’s the common denominator with all of these characters? An equally luxurious-looking car.

Now, actual gadget-filled spy cars that shoot missiles don’t exist in the real world (yet—a girl can dream). But a sleek car that makes you feel like a secret agent is real and it comes in the form of the all-new Toyota Camry. Don’t believe us? We list down why.

It’s low-key but screams “confidence”

The Camry’s exterior doesn’t look too over-the-top, but its bold and modern design will make you do a double take. This is a sedan that’s taken to the next level because of its athletic accents, two-piece front grille that adds character, and an overall tapered, three-dimensional exterior. Chief designer dubbed this “sensual-smart confidence,” and we can totally see how we’ll feel just that while driving this on the highway.

Freedom to choose your car’s color

You know how a spy would be briefed before a mission? The boss or inventor always makes it a point to ask how the spy likes their car, followed by a dramatic reveal of their snazzy ride later on. Admittedly, it’s fun to choose from different colors for your own car because this is going to be your baby for the next few years. The Camry currently comes in three colors: Platinum White Pearl, Attitude Black Mica, and Thermalyte. If you want it to stand out more, you can ask for the colors Red Mica, Phantom Brown Metallic, Graphite Metallic, and Burning Black Crystal Shine Glass Flake via special order.

Everyone will know you’re coming

There’s something about pretty cars that make anyone stop and stare at them as they zoom by. Aside from their design though, their bright headlights will let you know that they’re coming. The Camry’s LED headlamps and tail lights do just that, making it easy to spot in low-light areas—be it in the city or in the middle of nowhere during a road trip. It also has Daytime Running Lights which is a safety feature that helps in signalling other vehicles and pedestrians that you’re coming.

Interiors fit for “suit up” days

To match with the “sensual-smart confidence” outer appearance, the interiors have a luxe feel to them as well. The seats are clad in genuine leather and there’s enough leg room for both driver and passenger. The all-black motif is perfect for days you’d want to wear a pantsuit to work—it’ll make you feel more empowered, you know? Actually, even if you’re just in jeans and a shirt.

The technology that matters

The Camry’s technology reminds us of how spies make it look quick and easy to flick a switch to control everything in their cars. The the interior does have doors and windows you can control with one press; a touchscreen panel where you can a range of options for your care; and a Push Start System so you can start your car with just a button. When you enter the car, the the high-grade lighting will will welcome you and illuminate the inside fully—also makes it easy for you to find things in your car. Lastly, there’s a 7-inch Multi-Information Display for your radio and movie needs.

For the driving tech, you’ll be able to drive smoothly with its 6-Speed Automatic Transmission which gives you options on how you want your experience will be. If you’re driving in a higher speed, the Highly Responsive Upshift Control and Blipping Downshift Control will be activated for fast shifting without reducing engine braking. (Of course, you’re probably not going to be driving recklessly along congested highways, but we’re just putting that last feature out there.)
