Catch up on the cannabis beauty trend, minus the high

Last year saw the rise of cannabis-infused beauty products. Particularly, it was all thanks to Milk Makeup’s Kush Mascara which is infused with CBD oil that help condition the lashes, giving them a voluminous look. Makeup junkies (excuse the pun) took to this product instantly, raving about it in vlogs and social media posts.

CBD (cannabidiol) is a compound extracted from the cannabis sativa plant and no, it doesn’t make you high. This is known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. In skincare, it’s also touted as a retinoid that can help with acne and give you clear skin. Another similar ingredient you should know is hemp, which has Omega fatty acids and regulates natural oils when used on the body.

At this rate, we’re expecting more CBD and hemp beauty products in the market now that more people are becoming more open to it. I mean if Catriona Gray could talk about the legalization of medical marijuana with ease during Miss Universe, we can embrace these items and add them to our vanities if we need them. Check out what you can cop in the list below.

Christophe Robin Hydrating Shampoo with Aloe Vera

Is dry hair becoming a problem for you? This shampoo promises to “restore limp, lifeless hair” and its gentle formula helps cleanse the scalp. The aloe vera ensures a soothing feeling and the cannabis sativa seed (hemp) extract locks in the natural oils for a healthier scalp. Available on Sephora PH.

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser

This doesn’t rid your face of impurities, it also boosts the skin’s antioxidant intake per use. The matcha and hemp seed oil work hand-in-hand in balancing your skin’s pH levels, give it hydration, and lessen irritation. Available on Coolest MNL.

Cannuka CBD Healing Skin Balm

This is used as an all-around balm to treat distressed and dry skin. You simply get a small amount and massage it on the affected area. This product promises to leave your skin smooth and moisturized in a few days. Available online.

Optiat Purifying Organic Hemp Face Mask

What you do is you simply make a mask mixture with water, apply it to your face, and leave for 10 minutes. Your skin will absorb the amino acids and vitamin D formulated in the product. Available on Cult Beauty.

Hemp Organics Lipstick in Chai

Chai is a soft brown shade that could go well with morena skin tones. This is a buildable product that goes on sheer on first swipe and turns out bold after a couple more. It’s made with hemp seed oil to ensure that your lips are hydrated. Available online.
