Follow this one-day itinerary for Bangkok

Bangkok has always been a popular tourist destination. Whether you’re inspired by The Hangover Part II or Miss Universe 2018, there’s something for everyone. I’ve been there a few times and recently only had a day to go around. It doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but if you manage your time wisely, you can hit a lot of spots. The traffic gets pretty bad so I suggest walking or taking the Skytrain. Although, walking around gives you a bonus of passing by street food vendors and small shops. Not sure how to plan your one-day itinerary? Here are my suggestions.

Chatuchak market

If you take the first flight in, you’ll have enough time to travel to your hotel before lunch. Most hotel check-in times are at 2 p.m. If a room isn’t ready yet for  you, leave your luggage and make your way to Chatuchak market. This is a great place to get lunch and also shop. Enjoy street food along with some refreshing coconut ice cream.

The Emporium x The Emquartier

There are a lot of malls to visit in Bangkok but one of my favorites is The Emporium. It’s massive and has a variety of stores from designer labels to fast fashion brands. There are also floors dedicated to restaurants. Around this area, there are also water and plant features, an outdoor garden, and a play area for kids. There’s a lot to see but don’t lose track of time.

Zundrangma Records

Music lovers and record collectors should definitely stop by Zundrangma. They offer different genres including traditional Thai music called Molam. I suggest giving these records a listen and bringing one home. They also have merch like tote bags, pins, and T-shirts.

Spending hours at the mall and walking to the record store can build up quite an appetite. At WTF, you can order a hearty burger and some tapas. Once you’re done with your meal, head to the second and third floors, which is the gallery area.

Rabbit Hole

After heading back to your hotel to rest and freshen up, head out for some drinks. If you don’t have enough energy just yet, take a quick nap. Rabbit Hole is known for their cocktails. For something fizzy, order the Wonder Lust, which has gin, citrus and ginger beer, and coconut pandan shrub. They also have classics like a Smoked Peach Old Fashion.

Beam

Still up for a night out? Head on over to Beam to really get the party started. Enjoy more drinks at the bar and enjoy the music from Thai and international DJs.
