When news of Karl Lagerfeld’s death came out, we all had mixed reactions. The first was that this is an end of an era in fashion as he worked in the fashion industry for seven decades. At the same time, he was also fatphobic, among other horrible things. But here’s one thing I was worried about upon his passing: his cat, Choupette.
It’s no secret that Karl treated his cat lavishly (according to her Instagram account, she has maids), and even came out with pieces and merch inspired by her. She’s also an Instagram star with over 253,000 followers. She even had a Shu Uemura collab! So it’s kinda no surprise that Karl made sure his “heiress” is set for life as this feline will inherit the designer’s multi-million fortune.
In a Numéro interview last year, Karl revealed that he’s giving Choupette a cut of his money (estimated around £150 million to £350 million). I mean, that’s on top of Choupette’s millions from her merchandise and collaborations.
Bottomline: This cat could basically fund my whole life. If anyone puts her up for adoption (which is unlikely), I’ll probably be first in line and will be ready to feed her quality cat food. Also, give her lots of belly rubs.
