Welcome to another series of stories on Preen.ph called “Best of.” Every last day of the month we will be breaking down the best of, well, anything. These will cover different categories like culture and fashion. We will get into specifics like best new liquid lipsticks or restaurants for lunch breaks. For this month’s “Best of” roundup, I wanted to focus on all things beauty. From makeup to skincare, it’s hard to keep track of new releases that are coming up from different brands. To an extent, there is already some level of saturation but it’s always good to check out the ones that might stand out to you. Want to catch up on what’s new in the beauty world? Look at these nine products and collections.
Revlon Shoot The Moon Collection
This collection from Revlon is a little late in the Philippines but we’re still excited. Inspired by the cosmos, it includes lip products, face palettes, eye paints, and glow jellies. I’m living for the space theme and all of the glitter and shiny elements. Available at select Revlon counters.
Sunnies Face Lifebrow
Launched on Feb. 1, Sunnies Face got everyone’s brows on fleek with their Lifebrow duo. It comes with a skinny pencil and grooming gel. I couldn’t resist and got a tube of the gel and I approve. I suggest going in with a light hand and build it up as much as you want. I have sparse brows so this gives the illusion that they’re actually bushy and full. Sometimes, you just have to fake it. Available at Glorietta 3.
MAC Cosmetics Mini Collection
If you struggle to finish any of your makeup and just love cute things, check out MAC’s mini collection. They resized some of your faves into tiny packaging. These include lipsticks, pigments, lipglass, micellar wipes, strobe cream, mascara, and so much more. Visit the store closest to you and build your mini makeup kit, perfect for travel. P.S. I squealed so loud when I saw the mini lipstick in person. Available at Power Plant Mall.
Pixi Beauty Milky Collection
Following the success of their Milky Mist and Milky Serum, Pixi Beauty decided to release a whole collection inspired by it. All the products are enriched with coconut to calm and hydrate the skin. The additional products include a cleanser, makeup remover, and peel among others. Available online.
Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Wattabrat
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Fenty Beauty released another shade of their Killawatt highlighter. It is described as a baby pink shimmer and the swatches look great on all skin tones. Apply this on your cheeks as highlight, eyes for eyeshadow, and even on your body. Because why not? Available on Sephora PH.
Origins Drink Up Hydrating Masks
In February, Origins came out with two new masks. There are two options. The Drink Up 10 Minute Hydrating Mask has apricot and Swiss glacier water. Use this if you have dry skin. The Drink Up Intensive, on the other hand, has avocado. This is a sleeping mask, so apply this when you’re in desperate need of hydration. You’ll wake up with soft and smooth skin. Available at SM Makati.
Colourpop BFF Liquid Liner
Looking to replace your dried out eyeliner? Try out these new one from Colourpop. They have a classic black shade and other fun ones too like pink, green, yellow, and white. It has an ultra-fine tip so you can adjust your liner as much as you need to. Available online.
Happy Skin Love Your Lips Intense Color Butter Balm
Happy Skin is slowly releasing products from their active line. The first products you can cop are their lip balms. They come in four shades and are sweat-resistant and breathable. You can get them in sets of two, the one I’ve been using is Powerful, which is a natural color. It also has a minty, cooling sensation on the lips. Available online.
Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer in Caramel and Toasted
Benefit realized that there is no such thing as a universal shade, so they came out with two new Hoola Bronzers. Caramel will complement medium to deep skin tones, while Toasted is for deep. Kudos to them for releasing more options, but I think the deeper shades can go even darker. Can we expect more additions in the future? Available online.
