Beat the heat and humidity with a full linen outfit

Some say summer is approaching, but I think it’s already here. The sun sets a little later and it has been so hot during the day and night. I find myself sweating while walking outside for even just a few minutes. You’re probably wearing shorts, flowy tops, and sleeveless tops as much as you can. Sure, that’s a good idea, but another option is to add more linen to your wardrobe. The material is made of strong fibers that are breathable and cool. They also dry really quickly, which is perfect if you’re sweating it up at the beach or an outdoor gathering. Because we live in a very humid country, a lot of local brands focus on creating clothes made from linen. Instead of heading to your go-to fast fashion brand, check out these Filipino labels instead.

Studio 17

Going through Studio 17’s catalogue, you will notice that all of their pieces are made of 100 percent linen. They have a variety of tops that you can mix and match with bottoms you already have, or something from their collection. The one that caught my eye is the Andie jumpsuit that has a classic polo cut, side pockets, and buttons along the front. Available online.

Lola & Daisies

When you think of linen, muted and neutral colors probably come to mind, but not for Lola & Daisies. They play around with color and have pieces in bright green and purple. One of their latest releases is this Luna top, which is made of rainbow striped linen material. I’m thinking of copping this for an upcoming party, I don’t need it but i want it. Available online.

Kariktan

Kariktan’s clothes have interesting silhouettes. Their Molave jumpsuit is completely backless with adjustable straps and a plunging neckline. Perfect for my life since I love to show skin. They also have a Caballero two-way wrap top and the Banaba dress, which has one strap and a slit up the Available online.

Love, Ara

If matching sets are your thing, Love, Ara has a lot for you to choose from. For example, they have a skirt, shorts, and two tops in their rust color. You can purchase all four and mix and match to your liking. And the bold color is ideal for summer. I mean, who doesn’t want to stand out? Available on Instagram.

Undo

I’m such a fan of Undo’s latest collection with Seek the Uniq. They have a long dress that has a V neckline and front tie detail and a few trouser options. They also have tie tops that you can play around with. The one I’m drooling over, however, is their linen blazer that comes in so many candy shades. Yup, a linen suit might just be my new summer staple outfit. Available online.
