Step back, red velvet cupcakes: Cookies are back to outshine you

Cookies bring back a lot of childhood memories. It’s what our moms and/or grandmas usually make so we can have snacks at home. You probably learned how to bake by making batches upon batches (and also eating the cookie dough—don’t lie).

We’re bringing this up because after years of being obsessed with red velvet cupcakes and rainbow cakes, cookies are back on everyone’s radars. It doesn’t matter if they’re crispy or chewy, you just want a jar for yourself.

You can choose to make some on your own, but you can also check the shops we listed down below for your snacking needs. Ready your sweet tooth!

Mood Bake

Liz Uy’s cookie shop has been a hit since she launched it on Instagram. It’s understandable since the cookies are chunky with gooey chocolate in the middle—who doesn’t want gooey chocolate, right? If you want a box to share with your friends and family, Mood Bake currently has a pop-up shop in Greenbelt. Located at G/F Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City.

Bake Scout

Bake Scout is known for their Belgian chocolate cookies. What sets them apart is they have a hint of saltiness which cuts through the sweetness. When you order, you can choose between a box or a jar. I personally want to get a jar so I can reuse it afterwards. (Also, fun fact: Our officemates are obsessed with these cookies.) Order here.

Mo’ Cookies

If you’ve been to The Mess Hall in Karrivin Plaza during weekdays and tasted their yummy cookies, this is where they come from. The selection ranges from chocolate chip to Nutella-filled crinkles, which taste good hot and at room temperature. If you always run out of cookies at The Mess Hall, you can also grab a batch at Power Plant. Located at R1/L Power Plant Mall, Hidalgo Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City.

Workshop Bespoke Bakery

You can’t go wrong with the basics like oatmeal, raisin, and chocolate chip. Workshop offers just-baked options, and you can grab coffee with them too. How’s that for relaxing? Located at Le Petit Soufflé, 2/L Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall Building D, EDSA, Mandaluyong City.

Cookies By the Bucket

For affordable crispy chocolate chip cookies, check out this shop. Buy six pieces for P90 up to 48 pieces for P500. That’s a steal if you ask me! Go order online or check out one of their stalls. Located at Open Kitchen, 2/F Rockwell Business Center Sheridan, Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City.

Scout’s Honor

Scout’s Honor brings back the aspect of eating cookies with milk. The only difference is the cookies have unique flavors like matcha, red velvet, s’mores, and more. The milk has various selections as well, so it’s a matter of choosing which matches with your snack. Located at Hole in the Wall, 4/F Century City Mall, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City.

Bald Baker

Pastry chef Cy Ynares (aka “The Bald Baker”) calls his cookie creations “the kids.” Each batch is homemade with unconventional combos. There are intriguing flavors like Ritzy-Q (chewy butter cookie with hints of parmesan and coconut), Ube Halaya (ube-flavored cookie), and Big Black Cookie (made with dark chocolate from South Cotabato). If you want to see the full list of options, check them out here. Bald Baker isn’t accepting orders at the moment, so be sure to check his Instagram for updates.
