Finally, somebody understands the struggle.
Facebook has officially launched a Lite App for Android users in India and the Philippines. It’s designed to provide the same social surfing experience even with a spotty and sometimes unreliable connection.
As its name suggests, the app will make using Facebook a lot easier and quicker given its lighter data content. Lite just weighs in at 430 KB—a lot less than Criminal Case, so that’s good news—enabling quick download. The app can let you can do everything except download and watch videos for now, though.
It’s best for those who consume Facebook casually and out of necessity, not for those who hardcore binge-surf. Besides, the whole point is to surf quickly without slowing down your phone at all.
The app will soon be available in other markets that experience the same connectivity—and perhaps, addiction—problems.
