And the election paranoia continues. After several problems like malfunctioning VCMs, there’s now a video going around showing poll watchers allegedly pre-shading ballots in Lanao Del Sur.
It was first shared on political organization Youth Act Now Against Tyranny’s Facebook page. You can see several ballots being shaded at an undisclosed precinct. Eagle-eyed netizens believe they were shading the circles beside Francis Tolentino and Zajid Mangudadatu—both from PDP-Laban and backed by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
Others seem skeptical that this happened in Lanao Del Sur because Samira Gutoc topped the senate polls in the region. She’s followed by Duterte-backed candidates Bong Go, Gen. Bato Dela Rosa, Zajid Mangudadatu, and Cynthia Villar. Some are also claiming this video was shot in 2016.
That doesn’t mean Comelec shouldn’t look into this and give concerned citizens an explanation. We deserve more than just excuses for a possibly faulty election.
