Netizens call BS on “glove shedding” tainting Jaclyn Hill’s lipsticks

YouTube beauty guru Jaclyn Hill just came out with a nude lipstick collection under her namesake brand, Jaclyn Cosmetics. Despite rave reviews on the formula and color payoff, many customers are complaining about alleged hairs, bumps, and even fungus-like spots.

Based on some of the complaints on Twitter, the “Decaf” shade is the most contaminated. Netizens complained about a hair ball and non-smooth surface of the lipstick.

The conversation reached a turning point when beauty vlogger RawBeautyKristi posted a 52-minute YouTube review. Here, she placed the lipsticks (not just Decaf) under a microscope and saw fungus-like growths.

Jaclyn apologized to all the customers, ensuring them she and her team “are working very hard on finding out EXACTLY what is causing the ‘grittiness [and] bumpy texture’ on some of the lipsticks.” She also reacted to RawBeautyKristi’s photo where hairs were seen on the lipstick, defending that those are shedding from white gloves.

But this also begs the question of how can these “sheddings” touch the product itself. As some netizens told Estée Laundry, several tests are done visually and lipsticks shouldn’t be touched, else, it’ll compromise the quality of the product.

Jaclyn Hill is also not the only YouTuber whose beauty products are under fire recently. Even Jojo Siwa’s Claire’s makeup collection has been recalled because of high levels of asbestos. So we hope their respective brands resolve this issue before it turns into a serious health hazard.
