Spotify and Emporio Armani Create a Music App

In news that no one saw coming, music streaming service Spotify collaborated with Emporio Armani to create a music app called Emporio Armani Sounds. The Cut reports that it will feature playlists created by the likes of Calvin Harris, Mark Ronson, The Klaxons, La Roux, and Boy George, along with interviews and concerts. They’ll also be uploading the runway soundtracks from Armani’s fashion shows, along with the music that plays in their stores. It even includes guides on which hot spots to hit in cities like Tokyo, New York, and Paris.

The project appears to be an offshoot of Armani’s yearlong music project, also called Emporio Armani Sounds, which sponsored performances by artists like Seth Troxler and ART DEPARTMENT in New York City, The Klaxons in Paris, Róisín Murphy in Barcelona, and Kindness in Tokyo last year.

The best part is that the app is free (no need to purchase Spotify Premium!) and playlists will be updated weekly.
