Marjorie Barretto: “I am for reconciliation, just not an orchestrated one.”

Marjorie Barretto finally told her side of the story in a “TV Patrol” interview on Tuesday evening. This was after she posted an Instagram photo days ago, saying that she will finally tell the whole truth to the public.

The latest feud between the Barretto sisters happened during their father Miguel Barretto’s wake where Gretchen Barretto claims that Marjorie “had a nervous breakdown,” and even shared videos on her Instagram of what went down. Meanwhile, Claudine was hospitalized last Thursday night after reports that she felt dizzy after an alleged fight with Marjorie.

Now, we finally get to hear Marjorie’s side.

She expressed in the interview that she didn’t want to reconcile with Gretchen despite the efforts of Pres. Duterte because she “could see the insincerity.” She claims that she knows Gretchen the most. Marjorie also said that she only got upset when Atong Ang, the “boyfriend” of Gretchen, asked her niece, Nicole, to leave.

Apparently, Nicole and Atong were “past-lovers” until Gretchen “stole” Atong from Nicole. Marjorie says this is her personal knowledge. She also stated that Atong was always present in family gatherings, so there’s no need to deny his relationship with their niece. Wag naman niyang babuyin ‘yung bata. Nakuha na nga niya nang bata si Nicole noon. They had a five-year relationship? She was not even, I think, 18. Nababoy na nga eh, nasira na nga reputation ng bata, ide-deny mo pa. Gagawin mong sekretarya mo na lang.” (Please don’t disrespect the child. He was already with her since Nicole was young. They had a five-year relationship. She wasn’t even 18. She was disrespected, her reputation was ruined, and you still deny your relationship by saying she’s only your secretary?)

Marjorie was clear that she and the president are on good terms and that Duterte even stopped her from apologizing. She was also clear that she is open for reconciliation with Gretchen, but not just for “fanfare.” For Marjorie, if only there weren’t any press and cameras, she would have “led her” to their father. “I swear that on my children’s lives. I am for reconciliation, just not an orchestrated one,” said Marjorie in the interview.

She was also clear that she is a good daughter, and that Gretchen never even invited their parents to her house. “It goes to show that Gretchen does not care about the family at all. My father died of acute respiratory failure due to sepsis, pneumonia. He did not have a heart attack,” Marjorie said. She then called out sister Claudine.

“Claudine, anong nangyayari sayo? Bakit hindi mo na-convince si Gretchen na bumisita sa Daddy natin nung nabubuhay pa?” (Claudine, what’s happening to you? Why didn’t you try to convince Gretchen to visit our dad when he was still alive?)

Marjorie also revealed that Caloocan Mayor Recom Echiverri is the father of her youngest child, Erich. She said that she wasn’t perfect and that she’s not proud that she fell in love with a married man. About the accusations of Gretchen that Mayor Echiverri allegedly molested Claudine, Marjorie says it was a “set-up” that happened when Claudine asked for financial help earlier this year.

She also said that her children are not for sale. “I don’t even have very much [sic] wealthy friends to sell my children to. My children work very, very hard.” Marjorie also claims that she’s “not a mistress for money.”

Gretchen has since responded to the interview. She took to Instagram and shared clips of the interview:

Looks like the Barretto feud is far from over.
