8 must-visit shopping events

We only have a month left before Christmas and people are on the hunt to buy the best affordable gifts for their loved ones. There’s also something about being in a holiday market that makes us feel alive, maybe because most of the items are discounted. But seriously, Christmas shopping really highlights what Christmas is all about: giving.

This year is all about supporting local, with the rise of artisans and brands coming up with pieces that showcase what it means to be a Filipino. So make sure to save these dates and places of upcoming local bazaars/events, especially since the Christmas rush will be starting real soon!

Designers’ Holiday Bazaar

The Designers’ Holiday Bazaar is a yearly bazaar that features some of the country’s best artisans. This year, they will fund scholars of the Affordable Private Education Center (APEC) and the Steps Scholarship Foundation. Time to look forward to new collections from returning exhibitors like Etniko Pilipino, Feanne, and Whisk Designs. The bazaar will run from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15 at Greenbelt 5.

Le Privé by Patty Ang

Patty Ang’s atelier has some pieces perfect for your holiday parties. Today, there will be a private trunk show starting at 10 AM at W Tower, Taguig where they will showcase their new holiday collection from Bijouxfäh and Tani Minetani. They will also offer an exclusive 10 percent discount. Aside from that, there’s also a 15 percent discount on ready-to-wear pieces in their store in Powerplant Mall, Makati.

Editor Ria Prieto will present her designed collections for local jewelry line Jul B. Dizon, a family business that’s one of the most awarded jewelry stores in the Philippines. Check out Prieto’s work on Nov. 28 at 2-6 PM in The Peninsula Manila.

Josanna SS20 Pop Up

The women behind this brand are Karen Bolilia and Anna Canlas, who make believe that high heels are “not necessarily gendered.” Young designer Carl Jan Cruz featured their collection in his S/S19 campaign and even brought them to Paris Fashion Week last year. Catch their new collection at Carl Jan Cruz Showroom (Taguig) on Nov. 28-30!

Bench x Katutubo PH

Another bazaar filled with local brands is happening on Nov. 15-17 from 11 AM to 8 PM at The Curve Tower, BGC. Katutubo PH is a market that celebrates Filipino fashion and culture. Among the list of brands participating are Kashieca, Bi Local, Kaayo Modern Mindanao, and Filip + Inna. This pop-up market is for the benefit of the U.P. Portia Sorority Alumnae Association. Spectrum Fair Manila

Calling out lovers of all things lifestyle: Spectrum Fair Manila will return on Dec. 7-8 at The Fifth at Rockwell! Expect a lot of local brands that sell organic food, accessories, and cosmetics. This will be their last fair of the year so mark your calendars!

Noël Bazaar

Who could forget the country’s longest-running Christmas bazaar? Back with over 500 merchants, this bazaar offers really affordable gifts! Noël bazaar will also be co-located with the International Food Feast Bazaar, so you can enjoy shopping while eating your favorite snacks. The bazaar will run on different dates per venue: Nov. 15-25 at World Trade Center, Nov. 27-Dec. 1 at the Filinvest Tent Alabang, and Dec. 19-22 at SMX Convention.
