Spotify Philippines’ finally revealed its list of Most Streamed Artists in 2019 and guess who topped the list: Local band December Avenue! This is the first time an artist from the Philippines has topped Spotify’s annual Wrapped Most Streamed Artist list, beating out artists like Taylor Swift who came in second place. Ed Sheeran, Ben&Ben, and Ariana Grande took the third, fourth, and fifth spots, respectively.
The country’s Most Streamed Tracks of 2019 also include songs by OPM artists, including “Sana” by I Belong To The Zoo, “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na” by This Band, “Maybe The Night” by Ben&Ben. Moira De La Torre’s album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” is also the year’s Most Streamed Album on Spotify PH—the first time an album by a female artist has topped the charts.
Meanwhile, the Most Streamed Song of the Year goes to December Avenue and Moira de la Torre’s “Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw.” Globally, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s song “Señorita” took the number one spot. Drake takes the title of Artist of the decade, with more than 28 billion streams to his name.
