Annabelle Rama and Ruffa Gutierrez Still Aren’t BFFs

You’d have to be as strong-willed and independent as Ruffa Gutierrez in order to stand up to someone like Annabelle Rama. In the latest saga of the mother-daughter feud, the two admit that they’ve reconciled their relationship, but that’s about it.

The source of conflict appears to be Ruffa’s current beau Jordan Mouyal, a French-Arab businessman. The very public and nasty falling out happened back in October when Ruffa walked out Annabelle’s birthday dinner over a comment her mother made about Jordan.

The proof was in the barrage of tweets that ensued:

Supposedly, P.G. stands for “patay-gutom.” To which Ruffa replied:

At yesterday’s press conference for the third season of It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez, Annabelle hints at some remaining animosity with a tiny jab at Ruffa in an exchange about their favorite moments on the show.

Annabelle: Ako kasi gusto ko yung laging magkasama [yung family]. At tsaka, depende naman yan sa parents. Ako kasi, every day I try to check up on them, ganyan-ganyan.

Ruffa: Mom, you haven’t called me in two months.

Annabelle: Siyempre Ruffa, may kasalanan ka.

Oh, snap. However, as the conversation progressed, the two admit to a reconciliation, albeit a reluctant one?

Annabelle: Nagbati lang kami, hanggang dun lang.

Ruffa: Hindi pa kami BFFs. Nagpapahiram pa lang siya ng bags or ng mga alahas. ‘Pag galit yan sakin, hindi magpapahiram yan. I think it’s hard to be together. It’s hard to keep us together, there’s always something happening.

It seems that all is well with the Gutierrez matriarch and her firstborn. For all we know, it could just be a stunt to keep people entertained on their reality show. As Annabelle tells it, this scenario isn’t impossible: Hindi naman sinasadya, eh. Yung mga away-away namin? Kung gusto komaging sikat kaysa sa buong pamilya ko, eh di gagawa na akong gimik. Madaling gumawa ng gimik, maging tomboy lang ako,” she says in reference to Caitlyn Jenner. “Ayokong-ayoko ng script. Kung anong nangyari, yun na yun.”

I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned for her next gimmick, then.

It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez will premiere its third season this July 27 on E! Asia.
