Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas’ finally tops Billboard Hot 100

Can you believe this year marks the first time that Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” by Mariah Carey topped the Billboard US Hot 100?

While it’s common for some songs to top the charts years after its release, “All I Want For Christmas” is a whole different story— it topped the said chart 25 years after its release.

Last November, Carey was also presented a Guinness World Records title for the iconic hit: “All I Want for Christmas” is officially the highest-charting holiday song on the Billboard US Hot 100 by a solo artist. The plaque was given at the 25th anniversary celebration of the song’s initial release, which made it even more special.

The iconic song has also achieved many other feats, including Guinness World Records titles for most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours (by a female artist), after being streamed 10,819,009 times in December 2019, and most number of weeks spent in the UK Singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song at 20 weeks.

“All I Want For Christmas” is also part of Carey’s re-released “Merry Christmas Album,” which is a special holiday deluxe edition of the original 1994 release.
