Fight period cramps with these heat pads

Periods can be such a hassle. There are mood swings, cravings and cramps—which we all know can hurt like a b*tch. We know there’s only so much we can do about our mood swings, and cravings can always be satisfied.

As for cramps, you can either take medication or use a heat pad to make the pain bearable. However, taking medicine isn’t always the best option for some people because of possible allergic reactions or side effects, which often include grogginess.

According to Clue, heat is effective against period cramps because it helps alleviate inflammation and promote blood flow.

Here are some heat pads you can check out:

Sure Aid Water Bag

You’ll probably find this at every household and clinic for general stomach aches and menstrual cramps. Just fill it up with some hot water and you’re good to go. Available at Mercury Drug store.

Nexcare Hot/Cold pack

This hot/cold pack from Nexcare doesn’t require hot water. All you need to do is put it in the microwave for two minutes and place it just below your stomach. Available at Watsons store.

Precious Herbal Pillow

This microwaveable pillow not only eases your menstrual cramps, but also relieves stress with its essential oils (cassia seeds, ginger, cinnamon, lemon grass, lavender and peppermint). Available at Robinsons Supermarket.

Sinaya Cup Heat Pack

Aside from menstrual cups, Sinaya Cup also offers heat packs for ladies on-the-go. The heat pack doesn’t require electricity or batteries as it heats up by flexing the metal disk inside back and forth. Available on Sinaya Cup’s website.

Cofoe Women Uterus Belt

Cofoe Women Uterus Belt might be the perfect heat pack for when you’re in the office. Just wrap it around your waist, turn it on and just go about your day. The USB-rechargeable pad doesn’t only provide heat, it also massages you for extra comfort. Available on Lazada Philippines.
