Start your weekly de-stress early at these spots

Sometimes we don’t even realize how we’re letting work become our whole life. Imagine leaving the office at the end of the day just to do more work at home. It’s crazy. There are even some instances where we push our limits to meet quotas and deadlines, leaving us exhausted and unmotivated. During college, I would feel burned out and irritable juggling school work with freelance work.

Little breaks can help, but it can only do so much. Whether you want to call it a “reset day” or “pamper day,” you deserve to have a full day all to yourself. You could get yourself a new haircut, a massage or even just stay at home to read your favorite book.

Here are some places you could go to for the ultimate pamper day:

Float Manila at Saddle Row

Service: Floating

If you want to get away from all the noise, you’ll definitely appreciate your time at Float Manila. It offers you an hour-and-a-half break from overthinking by just letting you float in your own little pod of salty water, which mimics a kind of f zero gravity effect. This allows you to reconnect with yourself and relax more, promoting focus and creativity. Located at 3/F Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Drive, Makati City.

KARADA

Service: AP Balance

Whether you’re experiencing back pains or you just want to fix your posture, KARADA’s AP Balance (a combination of Chiro, Osteopathy, Thai Massage, etc.) is a good idea. It uses a unique technique that realigns your atlas (the first bone on your neck) and pelvis to “alleviate body pains and improve hormonal regulation.” Located at 3/F Glorietta 2, Ayala Center, Makati City.

Foot Zone

Service: Filipino style foot scrub

After a long day of walking and commuting, a foot scrub sounds heavenly. Foot Zone’s Filipino style foot scrub is a great way for your feet to feel softer and smoother. It also improves your health by helping heal foot ulcers and similar ailments. Located at 17 Richbelt Tower, Annapolis Street, Greenhills, San Juan City.

Kallista Nail Pamper Lounge

Feel like a goddess with Kallista Nail Pamper Lounge. Aside from the white and gold interior of the lounge, they take pride in their Aphrodite’s ritual, which includes hand and foot spa, paraffin dip (for your calluses), a massage and a mani pedi. For some, one good way to achieve confidence is feeling like you look your best. KIYOSA’s Japanese technicians can give you  amazing Japanese-style eyelashes with great volume.
