The countdown to the launch of Lady Gaga’s sixth album has officially begun.
Days after premiering her new song and music video for “Stupid Love,” Gaga shared on social media that her new album will be called “Chromatica” and will be out on April 10. She also shared a pink logo, which she said was just a temporary artwork and not the official album art.
If you’ve been listening to Gaga for a while, you know that all her albums follow a theme and have songs that are based on the singer’s personal life. For example, her last album “Joanne” was a mix of country and dance pop, and the songs delve into Gaga’s family life and her emotions on the death of her aunt.
For “Chromatica,” Gaga hinted in a Beats 1 interview last week that she created the album with the idea of escaping the world she’s in. “I think what I’ve learned is that I can view the world in whatever way I choose to see it, and it doesn’t mean that I’m deleting the bad things, it just means that I can reframe my life experiences,” she said. “I live on Chromatica, that is where I live … I found earth, I deleted it. Earth is canceled. I live on Chromatica.”
We can also expect lots of color in the “Chromatica” era. The “Stupid Love” music video already gave us a range of hues like yellow, blue and hot pink. Additionally, Billboard cited a press release saying that “Chromatica” will be available in different vinyl colors and an exclusive clear album available will be on Gaga’s website.
