Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have attended their last official function as senior members of the Royal family.
During the Commonwealth Day celebration at Westminster Abbey yesterday, the couple didn’t take part in the Queen’s formal procession. They were simply ushered to their seats.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were also not part of the procession due to some last minute changes. The Palace, however, decided to keep mum on what prompted the change.
The Queen’s invitation for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join the celebration was very important, despite the couple deciding to step down as senior members of the Royal family. Prior to stepping down from their Royal duties, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex played a huge part as the President and Vice President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.
As they officially step down on Mar. 31, they will still be carrying out their roles as President and Vice President of the trust despite not being able to represent the Queen anymore.
